Traditional Wisdom ~ Practice Makes Perfect

June 29, 2015
Hi Luv et alii,
There is an old old wisdom saying that is found in every culture I have experienced, read about or even only heard about:
‘Practice Makes Perfect’
Where I started with a JPEG file

Where I ended editing the RAW file

Perfection is still a long way off but I am certainly enjoying the practicing!

I am just one incredibly happy old man.

Hi Luv et alii,
I am just one happy old man. When we became involved in amateur astronomy we started with our bare eyeballs, moved up to binoculars, then a 4.5” reflector and finally to an 8” reflector. The improvement in what we saw was amazing with each upgrade. Such is the case with the new camera.

After a day to try it out I am just blown out of the water. It may well be years before I master this beast but even with the little I have figured out the shots are simply superior to anything I have taken with the S4200. And just for the record I have taken about 15,000 shots with the 4200.
Take care, stay safe,
Brian

The Old Man Wonders If You Truly See ~ Taste~ Smell ~ Feel ~ Hear

June 26, 2015
Hi Luv et alii,
There is a way of living that is all too common in our world. It is the way of not seeing nor hearing nor tasting, nor touching, nor smelling. So many simply wander through their life without ever deeply connecting.
Here is a test to see if you are one of the many or the few. Look at the following picture;

How long did you look at it? How much did you see? Now if you would please look again? This time really look. Do you see the clear telescoped horns? How about the reflections? How about all the different shades of green?
Now imagine how much you have missed with all of your senses every day, hour, minute, second of your life.
Take care, stay safe,

Brian
